Fall 2017 Fulton County GA Updates
The State Department of Revenue has rejected the Fulton County tax digest, therefore, the 2017 tax bills will not be mailed on Oct 30 as originally indicated. The County now has to petition the courts for a temporary collection order and that will be done on Nov 3 and, at that time, a judge will rule on how and when the County can issue their 2017 tax bills. We are being told that a mailing date of Nov 15, with a City due date of Dec 15 and a County due date of Jan 15 is the earliest possible date. At this time, the Cities that bill individually are expected to issue tax bills 4-6 weeks after the County. As soon as we have any further information, we will update you accordingly.
The Fulton County and City of Atlanta tax bills are delayed this year and we have no exact date of the anticipated mailing but the latest information would indicate a possible mailing date of Oct 31 with due dates of Dec 15 and Dec 31. Please understand that this is not confirmed, just supposition. As soon as the actual bills are mailed and posted, we will start our transmittal process and work them as quickly as possible. We will continue to monitor this situation and update you as developments continue.
Fulton County property owner/managers:
In accordance with the Fulton Co Commissioners meeting of June 21 and the follow-up meeting of the Fulton County Board of Assessors, the 2017 assessment notices that were originally sent have been recalled and revised 2017 assessment notices will be sent on or before August 4, 2017. It is our understanding that the actual tax bills will most likely not be issued until around October 1 with extended due dates but this is subject to change. Also, we understand that the County will be mailing postcards to all Fulton County taxpayers within the week confirming this information.
